LA Galaxy’s off-season revamp presses on today after the legacy club have completed a deal for St. Louis forward João Klauss.
Klauss arrives in SoCal in a move that sees the Galaxy send $2.375 million million the other way, with the 28-year-old Brazilian occupying the club’s third and final Designated Player slot.
With the prolonged absence of midfield talisman Riqui Puig, Klauss’ arrival should help manager Greg Vanney offset the gap left in the Galaxy’s attack, with the diminutive Spanish playmaker set to miss the entirety of the 2026 MLS season.

“João has established himself as a fierce competitor and great teammate and we are excited to welcome him to the group,” said LA Galaxy general manager Will Kuntz.
“We look forward to benefiting from the leadership and tenacity he has displayed during his time in MLS as we prepare for the upcoming season.”
Before enjoying a fruitful two-year spell along the Mississippi River, Klauss was somewhat of a journeyman after emerging from the youth pipelines of Internacional, Juventude, and Grêmio, featuring for HJK, LASK, Hoffenheim, Standard Liège, and Sint-Truiden in the run-up to his 2022 arrival at Energizer Park.
