Two Sooners have returned to Norman with a gold medal from Chile.

Baranczyk served as an assistant on Team USA under Duke coach Kara Lawson. This is her first assistant position with Team USA as she has served as a court coach for the 2017 and 2023 U19 National Team Trials.
This is Beers’ first appearance with Team USA and leaves with her first gold medal.
Team USA defeated Brazil 92-84 for the championship Sunday in Chile. Beers played six minutes with 4 points. She usually played more, but her five personal fouls kept her on the bench.
Team USA’s Mikayla Blakes, from Vanderbilt, led the way for the team with 27 points. Brazil’s Damiris Dantas led the game with 35 points.

“Wow!! (USA Basketball) Wow!!,” Baranczyk wrote in an X post. “What an amazing few weeks! I have immense gratitude for these players, coaches, staff and parents! What an unforgettable ride! These women worked, learned and grew together! Keep shining! Love you all!”
Beers had her best game at the start of the tournament against Chile. Beers scored 22 points with 7 rebounds and 3 steals in a 108-47 win over Chile June 28.
Beers will return to Lloyd Noble Center with a gold medal and on a high entering her senior season.
Beers, a 6-foot-4-inch senior, averaged 17.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game in her first season in Norman last year while playing just 22 minutes a game.

Baranczyk is entering her fifth season as OU’s coach and is leading the program on a path to massive success.
Last season, the Sooners made the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2013 and recruited the best player in the 2025 recruiting class in Aaliyah Chavez, who earned the National Gatorade Player of the Year award this season.
