2025 WNBA All-Star game was the second most-watched in history, still down 36% from last year

The WNBA All-Star game drew very impressive numbers this past weekend in Indianapolis.

But, despite it being the second most-watched in history, it didn’t even come close to the record that was set last season.

The WNBA All-Star Game drew just shy of 2.2 million viewers on Saturday on ESPN, ABC and Disney+, the network announced on Tuesday. While that is the second-best outing in history, it’s down about 36% from the record 3.44 million that tuned in last year.

It’s easy to see why last year’s event was such a hit. Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was playing during her rookie season, and it featured a matchup between Team USA and the rest of the league in the lead-up to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Clark missed out on this year’s festivities while dealing with a groin injury, which she re-aggravated just days before. She was still present in Indianapolis, but watched from the bench. Team Collier, led by Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier, beat Team Clark 151-131 in the matchup. Collier led the way with 36 points.

This year was the third consecutive season that the WNBA All-Star game was shown on ABC in prime time. The 2023 edition drew about 850,000 viewers. The skills challenge and 3-point contest on Friday, despite Clark having to pull out, still shattered records from the year before. The events drew an average of 1.3 million viewers, which was up nearly 90% from 2024.

The WNBA season resumed on Tuesday night after the break with several games, including a matchup between the Fever and the New York Liberty. Clark missed that contest with her groin injury, and it’s still unclear how long she’ll be sidelined.
