Atlanta Midtown three-star athlete Kentrell White has decommitted from Auburn, he tells Rivals’ Adam Gorney.
Pledged to the Tigers since the Fourth of July, White is not sticking with the SEC program and new head coach Alex Golesh. AU has seen multiple decommitments across the last 24 hours heading into National Signing Day as Golesh looks to revamp the class at the end of the cycle.

White is the No. 555 overall prospect and No. 16 athlete in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 60 recruit in Georgia.
Auburn originally beat Virginia Tech for White, who was recruited to The Plains as a tight end. His decision brings the Tigers back down to just 10 total commits.
When Auburn fired head coach Hugh Freeze, White was one of the many commits that said he was staying solid with the program. Ahead of NSD, though, many are beginning to look elsewhere as Golesh takes the reins and brings in a new staff.
“I told them I’m locked in with Auburn because I still have a lot of people that I’m close with down there,” White told AuburnSports last month. “It’s not just because of Coach Freeze. I was close with Freeze, but I still have Coach Ben (Aigamaua), Coach Kenyatta, Coach (Derrick) Nix and some of the players. I’m still good.”
