by

The Milan Cortina Olympics continued Tuesday, marking the first event in these Games for skier Mikaela Shiffrin, and the U.S. women’s hockey team faced rival Canada.

Shiffrin and teammate Breezy Johnson — who won gold in downhill Sunday — finished just out of medal contention in their combined downhill run. Paula Moltzan and Jackie Wiles ended up taking bronze for the U.S. in that event.

Team USA defeated longtime rival Canada in women’s hockey, scoring at least once in all three periods to secure an impressive 5-0 win. The victory pushed the U.S.’s record to 4-0 at the Games, completing an unbeaten group stage campaign.

Finally, “Quad God” and gold medal favorite Ilia Malinin took the ice for the first night of men’s competition in the short program.
