Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class.
Four-star tight end Malik Howard named Tennessee in his top six schools, along with Alabama, South Carolina, Miami, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.

“Beyond blessed to be in this position,” Howard announced. “Recruitment is still open but these are the schools that I am going to focus on!”
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect is an in-state target from Oak Ridge High School in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. 247Sports ranks Howard as the No. 8 tight end in the class and No. 7 player in Tennessee.
Tennessee offered Howard a scholarship on June 5, 2024. He has unofficially visited Tennessee seven times, most recently for the Vols’ football game versus Georgia on Sept. 13.
Kentucky was the first school to offer Howard a scholarship on May 23, 2024. Other schools to offer him scholarships include East Tennessee State, Indiana, Louisville, Liberty, Memphis, Virginia Tech, USF, Duke, Maryland, Purdue, Nebraska, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Florida, Syracuse, Michigan, Missouri, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Arkansas.

Tennessee has three commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield and offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo.
