The Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are in a recruiting battle for four-star defensive line recruit Anthony Lonon, who is a member of the class of 2026. Lonon recently named Georgia Tech and Georgia to his top two schools and plans to announce his commitment on Aug. 2.

Lonon has been an ascending recruit this offseason. Georgia offered Lonon late in the recruiting process back on June 3 and he has quickly become a four-star prospect.

Lonon is a local product. He plays high school football for Clarke Central High School in Athens, Georgia. The 6-foot-2, 260-pound defender is ranked as the No. 289 recruit in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Lonon is the No. 35 defensive line recruit in the nation and the No. 35 prospect in Georgia.

The Clarke Central star recorded 51 tackles, eight sacks and 15 tackles for a loss during his junior season. He helped lead Clarke Central to a 8-2 record. Lonon is a good student with a 4.1 GPA, according to his X account. The talented defensive lineman also plays basketball and runs track for his high school.

Lonon became a higher priority recruit for Georgia after five-star defensive lineman James Johnson flipped to Texas.
