4-star DL Tajh Overton decommits from Oklahoma State, Mizzou now trending

by

Owasso (Okla.) four-star defensive lineman Tajh Overton has decommitted from Oklahoma State, he told Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett on Sunday.

He was committed to the in-state program since June 27, when he chose the Cowboys over Oklahoma, Ole Miss, LSU and dozens of other reported offers. Mizzou has been pushing for a flip this fall and just had him on campus.

The 6-foot-2.5, 275-pounder is the No. 268 overall prospect and No. 30 DL in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Oklahoma.

He was one of eight total commits still in Oklahoma State’s 2026 class and one of two four-star defensive linemen, alongside Danny Beale. The Cowboys’ pledge list fell apart following the firing of longtime head coach Mike Gundy earlier this fall.

Mizzou now trending for Overton

According to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, Missouri is in the driver’s seat with Overton. The Tigers emerged as a threat to flip the four-star when he didn’t initially back off his commitment to Oklahoma State a few weeks ago after Gundy’s firing.
