With Kentucky’s first exhibition game against Purdue just four days away, one of the country’s top 2026 recruits is set to announce his decision on where he will play college basketball next year.
Bryson Howard (Frisco, Texas), a top-15 recruit by both 247 Sports (No. 12) and Rivals (No. 11), is set to announce his commitment Tuesday at 4:30 PM ET on the CBS Sports College Basketball Channel. He has visited blue-blood schools Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina.

While at USA Basketball recently, Howard broke down his thoughts on each program with National Basketball Director Eric Bossi. Here’s what he had to say about Kentucky:
“It’s pretty nice out there, and the players and coaches treat each other like family, and that’s something that I’m really looking for. They really looked at my analytics and how they can help me be a great overall basketball player. (Mark Pope) was showing me stats like me shooting contested or uncontested shots and my effective field goal percentage and that was really great.”
Heading into Tuesday, Duke is widely viewed as the favorite to gain the commitment of Howard, who is the son of former NBA All-Star Josh Howard.
Rivals’ Jamie Shaw is hearing Duke should be the pick.

Looks like this Kentucky target won’t be making his way to Lexington for what could be just one season of college basketball.
