#9 – Jalil Hall
Wide Receiver
6’4”, 202
Freshman
Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania
2025 Projection: Redshirt
Jalil Hall is a rarity in these days of college football and of my work on this countdown. He’s a true freshman. He committed to the Boilermakers in April of this year as a 4* out of the state of Pennsylvania. During his senior season he grabbed 59 receptions for 991 yards (I’m sure being that close to 1,000 and not getting it drove him insane) to go along with 14 touchdowns.

Hall will come into a wide receiver room that has far more questions than answers going into this season. I challenge any of you reading this to name me Purdue’s top 4 wide receivers…I’ll wait. I listed his projection as redshirt but I’m willing to be surprised. He had a good ranking coming out of high school, including 247 who rated him as the 35th best WR nationally. But, will that be enough to get a true freshman onto the field at WR a position that will take a lot of hits and requires crisp running and great blocking? I don’t know, but it’s at least a start.
#9 – Myles Slusher
Defensive Back
6’0”, 195
Senior
Broken Arrow (supposedly not the John Travolta movie), Oklahoma
Former School: Colorado
2025 Projection: DB Starter/Heavy Contributor
Slusher is one of many many transfers into the Boilermakers into the offseason. He previously was at Colorado as you can see in the picture there. However, before that he spent 3 seasons at Arkansas. So you might be asking yourself, if he spent 3 years at Arkansas and 1 year at Colorado how is he still eligible? Well, the answer to that seems to be that he redshirted last season at Colorado. He played in 4 games, the most you can appear in while still redshirting. During those 4 games he had 17 tackles.
Purdue needs help all over and a guy who could contribute at Arkansas, albeit with some injuries, should have the talent to step into a role with the Purdue defense.
