According to a recent report by Cricbuzz, Cricketer Kiplin Doriga was caught in a theft case. He appeared before the Magistrates’ Court, pleaded guilty, and admitted to committing the crime.

Relief Magistrate Rebecca Morley-Kirk deemed the case too serious for the Magistrates’ Court and referred it to the Royal Court, where the next hearing is scheduled for November 28. Doriga was denied bail and will remain in police custody until that date.
Cricketer Doriga was part of the PNG squad participating in the second round of the ongoing CWC Challenge League on the island.
Kiplin Doriga, a Cricketer for Papua New Guinea
Kiplin Doriga has been a regular player in Papua New Guinea cricket. The 29-year-old wicketkeeper-batter featured in both the 2021 and 2024 T20 World Cups. He is currently part of the squad competing in the second round of the CWC Challenge League.
Doriga made his first-class debut against Hong Kong in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup. He made his ODI debut against Scotland in November 2017. The right-handed batter later played his first T20I match in March 2019.
He has featured in 39 ODIs for Papua New Guinea, scoring 730 runs at an average of 20.27, including four half-centuries and a best score of 89*. He has played 38 T20Is, amassing 350 runs at an average of 13.46, with a top score of 46.

According to a report by Post-Courier, Cricket Papua New Guinea confirmed that Kiplin Doriga was involved in a robbery incident in Jersey. The board emphasized that the matter is personal and will not impact the team’s participation in the ongoing tournament.
“Cricket Papua New Guinea has confirmed that Barramundis player Kiplin Doriga was involved in a robbery incident in Jersey, United Kingdom, on Monday, August 25, 2025,” the report read.
“Cricket PNG stated that this is an individual matter and will not affect the team’s ongoing participation in the tournament. The Barramundis remain committed to completing their tour of Jersey and representing the country in line with the organization’s values.”
