Ben Griffin is the best example that you can rise from the bottom to the top. The 29-year-old golfer made Keegan Bradley's roster and will play at this year's Ryder Cup. However, if we go back only 4 years, we will understand how much more significant this success of his is.
Namely, the popular golfer decided to leave professional golf 4 years ago after problems with burnout, and financial difficulties were just another reason why he decided to say goodbye to golf.
He, on the other hand, devoted himself to the job of mortgage loan officer in his hometown, and failures at the golf course forced him to turn his life around 90 degrees.
However, not long after, there were unexpected changes.
One of the sponsors, Doug Sieg, offered a sponsorship to Griffin who returned to golf. Already by 2022, the American golfer secured a PGA Tour card, making a great success.
However, this year (2025) was particularly impressive for him, considering that he achieved even two victories.
At the press conference where Kegan Bradley confirmed the names that will be on the list, Griffin put a special emphasis on his retirement from golf and his current position.
"Yeah, I don't think so. Going from a desk job to making my way back to the PGA TOUR has been an incredible journey, and this year it's been kind of a breakthrough year for me, and I've just been working really hard and believing in myself, and I'm just really excited to be a part of this team and appreciate the belief from not only Keegan but also from the rest of the captains and other players that also believe in me, and I'm ready to work hard and fight for a lot of points at Bethpage."-Griffin said.

Ryder Cup call
While four years ago it looked like Griffin would end his professional career and never pick up a golf club again, much has changed since 2021.
Kegan Bradley put his trust in him, believing that Griffin would be a strong addition to his team. However, the main reason why Griffin got into this position is his faith.
Although at one point he thought it was the end and that he would never return, the same passion and desire for golf reawakened in him.
The highlight of his career was the call he received from Kegan Bradley. When you have the captain of the American team on the other end of the line telling you that he wants you on the Raider Cup team, then you know that all the hard work you've put in has finally paid off.
"Yeah, I mean, it's the biggest honor of all time to be on a Ryder Cup team and represent the United States. But that phone call could have easily gone either way for me. Keegan kind of voiced to me early on that there's good phone calls and bad phone calls, and you've got to go out there and leave no doubt.
I am really proud of the way I fought at the end of the year and had some top finishes and left no doubt to him. That phone call, there was a lot of emotions, anxiety going into that phone call, just not knowing what was going to happen. Just really excited to have the belief of all my teammates and captains to be on this team and to go out there and try to earn as many as we can.."- he said.
