Former UConn guard Christyn Williams joined the Dallas Wings on an extreme hardship contract and is available to make her WNBA debut in the team’s Friday night contest vs. the Atlanta Dream. With the Wings likely to have at most eight healthy players — the league’s minimum requirement — due to mounting injuries, Williams should see game action. She’ll remain on the roster until Dallas has 10 non-replacement players available again.
Williams was a four-year starter for the Huskies, finishing with 1,850 career points while winning the 2022 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award as the best shooting guard in the nation. She was taken in the second round of the 2022 WNBA Draft, 14th overall, by the Washington Mystics but suffered a season-ending knee injury in the preseason. She spent training camp with the Phoenix Mercury in 2024 and the Minnesota Lynx in 2025 but didn’t make either roster. Williams has yet to appear in a regular season WNBA contest.

The move reunites Williams and Paige Bueckers, who spent two seasons together at UConn, though they may not end up on the court together. Bueckers missed the Wings’ last game due to an illness and is listed as questionable for Friday’s contest.
