The Righteous Could Be WWE-Bound After Wrapping Up Indie Bookings

by

Vinny and Dutch—better known to fans as The Righteous—may be on their way to WWE.

According to Fightful Select, sources close to the situation say the duo has been telling indie promoters that they’re finishing up their remaining dates. Behind the scenes, word is WWE has shown interest, and many believe it’s just a matter of time before the company brings them in.

This isn’t WWE’s first look at the pair. Back in December 2022, The Righteous joined KC Navarro and Kylie Rae for a tryout specifically geared toward independent talent. But that same month, Vince McMahon forced his way back into WWE operations, triggering a hiring freeze that left many unsigned—regardless of how strong the tryout performances were.

After the freeze stalled things, The Righteous eventually joined AEW/ROH, but they’ve since secured their release. Now, WWE interest has reportedly reignited, and several names inside the company are said to be pushing for their signing.

Among their supporters is Elijah (fka Elias), who even filmed vignettes with the group. But perhaps most notable is the late Bray Wyatt, who reportedly pushed hard for The Righteous to get hired after seeing their tryout. Wyatt believed in their potential and wanted to work with them before his passing.

Now, with WWE talent once again scouting indie acts and momentum behind The Righteous growing, it looks like the door is wide open for a new chapter.
