The Indian head coach stunned many by overlooking Virat Kohli for the “most stylish” tag despite his fashion sense, sharp beard, and confident aura that make him stand out.
To everyone’s surprise, Gambhir described Shubman Gill as the “most stylish” cricketer of the current generation. Instead, the Indian head coach called Kohli a “desi boy” despite his fashion sense and star appeal. However, the Delhi connection could be the reason; they hail from the national capital.

Well, the fun continued as Gambhir rolled out more eye-catching tags. He gave the “Clutch” tag to the legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar, while Jasprit Bumrah’s lightning-fast spells earned him the title of “speed.” Nitish Rana was hailed as the “golden arm” by Gambhir.
Gautam Gambhir called the former Indian head coach and legendary batter Rahul Dravid “Mr. Consistent,” while VVS Laxman got the crown of the “run machine,” and Zaheer Khan was the “death over specialist.”
He said, “I wanted to mention Bumrah, but since I have already taken his name, Zaheer Khan.”
At the end, Rishabh Pant brought out Gambhir’s humorous side. The Indian head coach tagged Pant as the “most funny” in the squad. When he was asked who always gets late in the Indian cricket team, Gambhir said, “no one,” before jokingly saying Pant used to get late earlier.

Meanwhile, Gambhir praised the Delhi Premier League, calling it a powerful stage for youngsters to shine. He admitted that the local competitions are really tough and there will never be a shortage of talent in Delhi. Gambhir also believes that Delhi has much to offer to Indian cricket.
Gambhir stated, “I’ve been at home, and I haven’t watched a lot of cricket, but it’s a great platform for a lot of these boys who can showcase their talent. And DPL is a fantastic job. They’ve done a great job of giving such a kind of platform to so many players who can showcase their talent.”
Notably, Gambhir, along with the Indian cricket team, is all set to land in Dubai on September 4 for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, where they will begin their campaign against the UAE on September 10.
