Openers: Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Sediqullah Atal
Afghanistan would like to keep the winning momentum going that they have gained by virtue of wins against the UAE and Pakistan, respectively, when they take on the UAE for the second time in the tri-nation series.
The Rashid Khan-led side bounced back strongly after a disappointing batting effort in the opening match against Pakistan and registered back-to-back wins that too in emphatic fashion.

The Afghan team would be confident of registering another win against the UAE, whom they got the better of in the previous match by 38 runs, courtesy of a complete performance in all three departments.
The captain and the team management would bank on the batters to come good once again, as they have done in the last two matches, in order to deliver another solid performance with the bat.
A big win in this match would strengthen Afghanistan’s chances of finishing at the top of the points table in the three-team tournament, and for that to happen, the team would want the openers to get them off to a good start.
Although the majority of the Afghan batters have clicked in the last two matches, the only cause of concern for the team heading into the game against the UAE is the form of Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
The wicketkeeper batter hasn’t been able to make a significant contribution in the three matches that Afghanistan has featured in, in the tournament so far, and the team would desperately want him to get back among runs.
Gurbaz’s new opening partner, Sediqullah Atal, has taken to openish like fish to water since moving up in the second match of the competition against the UAE and would like to continue the form that he has shown so far.

Having said that, the likes of Azmatullah Omarzai, Darwish Rasooli, and Mohammad Nabi haven’t had much chance with the bat as the bulk of the runs have been scored by the top three batters.
Irrespective of the performance of Afghanistan’s top order, the team would want the middle-order batters to capitalize on the platform laid by them for the final five overs.

Like their batting, the Afghan bowling has also done a decent job in the last two matches. In fact, they have been on the money in all three games so far, and took their game to another level in the match against Pakistan.
Defending a par total of 170 runs, the Afghan spinners spun a web and bowled the team to a comprehensive win in the end.
Afghanistan is expected to go with an unchanged bowling lineup, which includes four spinners, in the upcoming match against the UAE, following a thumping win over Pakistan.
The team management would want the spinners to fox the UAE batters in the middle overs and for the fast bowlers to pick wickets with the new ball like they did in the last match against Pakistan.
