4-star OT Emanuel Tuckers flips commitment from LSU to in-state Ole Miss Rebels

by

The Ole Miss recruiting class got a big boost on Thursday, as four-star offensive tackle Emanuel Tucker announced he was flipping his commitment from LSU to the Rebels.

Tucker, a New Albany (Miss.) product, was at one time committed to Mississippi State before decommitting from the Bulldogs on June 2. A little more than 10 days later, he gave his verbal to Brian Kelly and Co. after taking official visits to Baton Rouge and Oxford. When he made that decision, the Rebels were in a close second and never relented in their pursuit of him.

He took another visit last weekend to Oxford, though he downplayed it as just getting an experience.

“It’s nothing at all,” Tucker told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong. “LSU is my school and that’s final. I will just be attending this game with my uncle and dad just so they can get a college experience before the big show in Death Valley.”

The Rebels made a big move during the trip though and now have brought him into the fold after missing out both of the earlier times he committed.

With the 6-foot-7, 285-pounder in the class, Lane Kiffin and Co. are now up to 16 commits this cycle with a group that ranks No. 18 nationally. Tucker himself ranks as the nation’s No. 288 overall prospect and No. 25 offensive tackle, per the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services.

However, Rivals is a bit higher on him than other services, tabbing him as the country’s No. 206 overall prospect and No. 19 OT.
