Todd DeSorbo Leads List of ASCA Coach of the Year Winners

The American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA), holding its World Clinic in Reno, has announced the names of its Coach of the Year recipients. The announcement revealed that the University of Virginia’s Todd DeSorbo has been named the 2025 winner of the George Haines Coach of the Year Award. DeSorbo was joined as a finalist by Bob Bowman, Dave Durden, Anthony Nesty and Braden Holloway.

DeSorbo led the University of Virginia to a fifth consecutive women’s team title at the NCAA Championships and placed several athletes on American rosters for international events, notably the World Championships and World University Games. At the World Championships, Kate Douglass, Gretchen Walsh, Alex Walsh, Claire Curzan and Anna Moesch earned medals after being guided by DeSorbo.

Nicole Cicalo-DeCaro, Bergen Barracudas Swim Team

This award recognizes swimming coaches who have committed extraordinary time and energy to positively impact the lives of others through their dedication, hard work, and service.
