The hope is that Shavers will be able to get more playing time this Saturday against Akron. He had a chance to be an integral part of this defense for years to come, and he possesses the playmaking ability to get it done. Saturday would be a solid opportunity for him to showcase his skill set.
Nebraska (1-0) will continue the nonconference portion of its 2025 college football season on Saturday, Sept. 6, when the Huskers host the Akron Zips (0-1) at Memorial Stadium. The kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will be the 404th consecutive sellout in Memorial Stadium history.
