Clemson’s first game back since a gutting, season-opening loss to LSU on Saturday, Aug. 30 hasn’t gone as planned thus far, with the Tigers falling behind Troy 7-0 after giving up a five-play, 75-yard scoring drive capped off by a 44-yard touchdown pass.
Thankfully for coach Dabo Swinney and his team, they’ll get a little break to try to sort things out.

Clemson vs Troy weather updates
With Clemson unexpectedly trailing Troy by a touchdown with 10:43 remaining in the first quarter Saturday, lightning was detected within eight miles of Memorial Stadium.
The game was stopped, with teams going back to the locker room and fans encouraged to leave their seats and move to a “safe location.” The game will be paused for at least 30 minutes.

At the time of the delay, Troy had a first-and-10 at its own 32-yard line, having forced a Clemson punt. Here are the latest updates on weather around Clemson and when the game is expected to continue:

4:15 p.m.: There’s a severe thunderstorm warning in effect in Clemson until 4:45 p.m, with 60-mile-per-hour winds and penny-sized hail reported.
