‘I’m driving a piece of sh*t’

by

Austin Dillon is having a rough start in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series playoff race at Gateway. Dillon, stuck in 26th, is upset with his No. 3 Chevrolet’s performance.

“Quit telling me how to drive,” Dillon told his team, per Dalton Hopkins of Frontstretch. “I’m driving a piece of sh*t. I can’t do anything with it.”

Dillon isn’t happy with his car, and that’s been a common complaint this season for him and Richard Childress teammate Kyle Busch. Speaking of Busch, he went for a spin shortly after Dillon aired out his frustration with his car.

The issue with the RCR cars this season is not news to Richard Childress. After the July race at Dover Motor Speedway, Childress went on the No. 3 team’s radio and said, “we’ve got to work on this sh*t.”

“Way to keep fighting, guys,” Childress said. “We gotta get some damn race cars. I’ve seen enough out of our drivers and teams. We’ve got to work on this sh*t. Period.”
