As the Texas Longhorns welcomed San Jose State to town on Saturday afternoon, they were more motivated than ever. Texas was coming off a disappointing Week One loss to Ohio State. They also had one of their top recruiting targets, Jai’Storm Knight, on campus for a visit to see what his future could hold at Austin.
Currently, the Judson High School star is ranked as the ninth-best offensive tackle in the 2028 class by 247Sports. They also rank him as the 81st best player in his class and the 10th best player from Texas. That is why he has drawn interest from some of the top programs in the country.
The other programs that have made an offer to Knight include Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, and Kansas. For programs looking to build a strong offensive line, Knight is a popular prospect. Although Knight has a few options to consider, he got to see on Saturday just how electric a Longhorns home game can be.

In the first half, Arch Manning had his way with the San Jose State defense, throwing four touchdown passes. His success was partly due to a strong offensive line that gave me plenty of time in the pocket to find two of his favorite targets in Parker Livingstone and Jack Endries.
While Manning will be in the NFL by the time Knight is in college, he would still get to block for an elite quarterback if he were to commit to Texas. The Longhorns’ future quarterback room includes Dia Bell, who is ranked as the third-best quarterback in the 2026 class. Regardless of who is under center, Knight would have the opportunity to play in a very talented offense.
With the Longhorns looking like the team they were expected to be, Knight got to dream about what the future could hold. He is still months away from making a decision, but his trip this weekend could provide more fuel to Texas’s chance of landing one of the best OL options in the 2028 class.
