The Dodgers activated infielder Max Muncy from the injured list and optioned catcher Chuckie Robinson before Monday night’s series opener against the Rockies in Los Angeles.
Muncy, 34, returns from his second IL stint of the season after missing 23 games with a right oblique strain. He made three rehab appearances with Oklahoma City, going 2-for-7 with two walks. He has played in 89 games this season, hitting .258 with an .800 OPS, 17 homers and 64 RBIs.
Muncy clubbed his 200th career homer on May 31 against the Yankees and is seventh in franchise history with 207 career homers. He has been with the Dodgers eight seasons, slashing .233/.359/.487 with 584 RBIs. Prior to joining the Dodgers, he played two seasons with the Athletics, clubbing five homers and driving in 17 runs in 96 games.
Robinson, 30, was activated on Saturday but did not participate in a game for the Dodgers. He was claimed on May 31 from the Los Angeles Angels and played in 47 games for the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets, batting .259 with four homers and 28 RBIs. He made his Major League debut in 2022 with the Cincinnati Reds, playing 25 games and clubbing two homers and driving in five runs.
Robinson has been in the Majors parts of two seasons with the Reds and Chicago White Sox (2024), slashing .132/.170/.194 with two doubles and two homers. Robinson has a .992 fielding percentage and is 12-for-48 in runners caught stealing.
