We still have a few more months before the 2025-26 college basketball season begins in November, but it will be here before we know it.
For the North Carolina Tar Heels, they are coming off a very important offseason in which they re-tooled the roster in hopes of fixing some issues. Hubert Davis and his staff brought in a top 10 recruiting class headlined by five-star forward Caleb Wilson as well as a very good transfer portal class.

While we knew the Tar Heels’ non-conference schedule, we finally got a look at the full schedule thanks to the release of the ACC schedule on Wednesday. The Tar Heels will open up ACC play on either December 30th or 31st against Florida State at home.
From there, they will alternate home and away games for the first few weeks of January before back-to-back road games at Virginia and Georgia Tech to close out the month. UNC’s first trip to California is also in January as they face Stanford on either Jan. 13 or 14 and then Cal on Jan. 17.
In February, UNC will host Syracuse on the 2nd and then Duke on the 7th. They will play NC State just once this season, the weekend of Feb. 17-18 with a date to be determined.
They close out the schedule with three of their last four at home against Louisville (Feb. 23), Virginia Tech (Feb. 28), Clemson (March 3/4) and then are the road at Duke (March 7). Below is the full UNC basketball schedule:
