Brittney Griner came off the bench to score 17 points to lead the Atlanta Dream to an 88-72 win over the Connecticut Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT on Wednesday evening.
Former UConn women’s basketball great, Tina Charles, finished the game with nine points which gave her a Sun franchise record of 700 points in a season. It is the most points she has scored in a season in her 14-year career. Aaliyah Edwards had four points and eight rebounds.

The Sun’s other two Huskies, Olivia Nelson-Ododa and Bria Hartley, missed the game with a back and knee injury respectively.
The Sun were led in scoring by Marina Mabrey with a game-high 22 points while Saniya Rivers had 16 points.
