TV and Broadcast Details Set for BYU-Nebraska Basketball Exhibition

by

BYU’s exhibition opener at Nebraska is approaching on October 18, and broadcast details were finalized Thursday. The game will tip off at 12pm CT/11am MT on B1G+. The game is on Nebraska’s home court and will be returned next year in Provo. This is an exhibition and will not count to either team’s regular season win/loss total.

Nebraska will be everyone’s first chance to see Kevin Young’s new squad in action. The Cornhuskers lose their top two scorers from a team that finished 47 in KenPom and won the inaugural College Basketball Crown. Their top player is senior big man Rienk Mast, who missed all of last season with a knee injury after earning Third-Team All Big 10 honors in 2024. Sharpshooting senior Connor Essegian returns after averaging 11.7 ppg for the Cornhuskers, and the transfer class was highlighted by Pryce Sandfort, who averaged 9 points on 40% shooting from three.

Although it is an exhibition, this will be BYU’s only true road game prior to Big 12 play. Nebraska football plays the day prior, so their fans won’t have a conflict to see the game in person and should provide a solid atmosphere against a likely top 10 BYU team. BYU hosts Utah in the Holy War the same day as the hoops game in Provo. As long as the game doesn’t get Big Noon Kickoff on FOX — which isn’t a guarantee — then the games wouldn’t overlap.
