by

Here’s an interesting fact you, dear reader, might not have had before clicking on this here blog. Two highly familiar names on the Texas Longhorns’ football roster this season were also once teammates in high school.

Who, you might ask?

None other than Texas wide receiver Deandre Moore and UTEP quarterback Malachi Nelson, a former five-star quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class and a former five-star peer of Texas’ starting quarterback, Arch Manning.

That’s according to a recent Sports Illustrated report.

Even so, college football hasn’t quite played out as Nelson might have once envisioned for himself when he initially signed at USC, only to later transfer to Boise State and then to UTEP from BSU, as history now tells.
