Staub called his own number and jetted up the middle of the field for a 19-yard touchdown on CU’s final drive of the first half. He tumbled in the end zone with the ball in one hand for a must-see highlight.
This was a good sign for the Colorado offense, which struggled to find any consistency in the first quarter. Houston took an earlyΒ 13-0 lead with several three and outs from the Buffaloes. But once Staub got settled, it was time to go. He took control when Deion Sanders called on him to turn up the tempo.Β
Staub has gone 12-of-18 for 120 yards and the rushing score. The play capped off Colorado’s second scoring drive of over 85 yards in the second quarter. Simeon Price took a handoff right up the field for a 38-yard touchdown, putting the Buffs on the scoreboard with 7:34 left in the half.
