Michigan State football improved to 3-0 for a second straight year with a win over Youngstown State on Saturday afternoon. But that was about the lone positive from a lackluster performance against the Penguins.
Michigan State led throughout most of the game, but never truly pulled away for a blowout victory in a 41-24 win over Youngstown State on Saturday. The win moved the Spartans to 3-0 on the year and completed non-conference play with a perfect record for the first time since 2021.

Aidan Chiles had a strong performance, finishing the game with 270 passing yards, one touchdown and an additional 76 yards rushing. The Spartans, however, suffered a number of injuries in the game, including starting wide receiver Nick Marsh and running back Makhi Fraizer. The status of those two players is something to monitor for next week’s big-time road trip to USC.
