Hulk Hogan was dealing with several health issues before his passing and over the years, he had to visit the doctor numerous times. However, Bubba the Love Sponge has now claimed he was in operating rooms in order to protect Hogan’s privacy.
While speaking to Danny Jones, Bubba the Love Sponge said he was allowed to be in the room during three of Hulk Hogan’s surgeries just to protect Hogan’s privacy. He explained that one of the surgeries was in Buffalo, where Dr. Rapishi worked on Hogan’s knee. Hogan was very worried that someone might secretly take pictures of his genitals because of how famous he was.
Normally hospitals never let a friend into an operating room, but because Hogan was such a big star, they made an exception. Bubba said he scrubbed in like the doctors but only stood in the corner, never touching Hogan, to make sure no one took photos of Hogan’s genitals.
“I actually, when we were really rolling hard, one of the procedures I went into was in Buffalo. Dr. Rapishi did a half knee on him, and Hogan was so worried because he was such a star and he was so worried about people taking pictures of his d*** that I scrubbed in.
You have to understand, for a hospital or a doctor to even allow this is mind-boggling, because most hospitals and doctors, if you say, ‘Hey, I’m going to bring my buddy in with me,’ they’re like, ‘No, motherf**ker. No, you’re not.’ But he was Hulk Hogan, and people made exceptions for him.
So I would scrub in and do the five-minute nail scrub. Meanwhile, I’m just in the corner making sure they’re not taking pictures of his d*** . I’m not touching the body. I’m from here to the door from him, but I’m just making sure. I did that three different times.”
Hulk Hogan’s health struggles were largely private during the last few months of his life, especially since no one even knew he was dealing with leukemia before his passing.
Regardless, it’s clear Bubba the Love Sponge just wanted to make sure no one violated Hulk Hogan’s privacy during operations, so fans understand why he was there with Hogan in the first place.
