Clemson football dropped out of the AP Top 25 on Sunday after a 24-21 loss at Georgia Tech sent the Tigers to 1-2 on the season.
The Tigers began 2025 ranked No. 4 in the preseason poll, but after falling to LSU in the opener and struggling past Troy, their spot at No. 12 entering Week 3 was already shaky. Saturday’s setback in Atlanta sealed the slide, marking Clemson’s first 1-2 start since 2014. They now sit at No. 36 in voting points and outside the national conversation, with advanced metrics echoing the decline — ESPN’s FPI ranks them No. 30 and SP+ has them at No. 31. They also fell out of the US LBM Coaches Poll Top 25.

It’s the first time Clemson has been unranked since 2023, when the Tigers went nine games without appearing in the poll during a 9-4 campaign.
The rest of the ACC, however, is well-represented. Miami climbed to No. 4, Florida State checked in at No. 7, and Georgia Tech made its debut at No. 18 after knocking off the Tigers. Rival South Carolina, meanwhile, fell out of the rankings altogether following its upset loss to Vanderbilt.
Clemson will try to reset this Saturday at Memorial Stadium, hosting Syracuse at noon on ABC/ESPN.
