In a battle of first-time finalists, the left-hander from France saved eight of ten break points. Rakotomanga Rajaonah dropped just one set and won her final three in straight sets.
Tjen, the first WTA finalist from Indonesia in 22 years, was playing in her second tour-level event; Rakotomanga Rajaonah was playing in her third.
“It was a really stressful week for me,” she said. “The first match was very difficult. Thank you Brazil, you have a special place in my heart.”
She is the thirtieth different woman to win a title on tour this year, and the first Frenchwoman to win on a hard court since 2022. Rakotomanga Rajaonah is also the first French teen to win a WTA title since 2016 Quebec City (Oceane Dodin).
