John Cena Could Make Even More WWE History At Wrestlepalooza

by

John Cena is a shoo-in WWE Hall of Famer, but he hasn’t reached triple digit pay-per-view wins just yet. That may change soon.

John Cena is currently on his retirement tour from WWE. During this run, he has done things that fans did not expect, including a heel turn. That heel turn led to a stint as WWE World Heavyweight Champion for his 17th run as champion. He also collected several premium live event wins during this stretch.

At Wrestlepalooza, John Cena is scheduled to face Brock Lesnar. WWE Wrestlepalooza takes place Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Pre-show coverage begins at 5:00 p.m. ET, with the main card starting at 7:00 p.m. ET. The event is expected to close with John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar, a match that carries some major stakes for Cena despite no championship being on the line.

Wrestlepalooza will be historic for more than one reason. Not only will it mark WWE’s first premium live event on ESPN’s new service, but it could be an important milestone because Cena is aiming for his 100th premium live event victory. A statistic during the September 15 episode of WWE RAW revealed during a commercial break confirmed that Cena is second all-time in this category, behind The Undertaker, who holds 107 wins.

John Cena has only six WWE appearances for WWE left, and his final date is already confirmed. Because of this, he will not have enough matches to surpass Undertaker’s record. Even so, he still has the chance to make history at Wrestlepalooza on Saturday, September 20. The outcome depends on whether Brock Lesnar allows that pursuit to continue, because we are dealing with a brand-new type of Beast Incarnate.
