Xavier basketball lands 4-star commitment, guard Kalek House, son of ex-NBA star Eddie

Richard Pitino and company got the recruiting ball rolling in the Class of 2026 with a commitment Sept. 15 from Kalek House, according to a report from On3Sports’ Joe Tipton.

House is the son of Eddie House, who played for nine teams over 11 NBA season and won a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008. He is the younger brother of Jaelen House, who started 94 games for Pitino’s New Mexico Lobos from 2021-2024.

Four-star guard Kalek House (1) committed to Xavier Sept. 15.

House is a four-star guard in the Class of 2026, according to 247Sports, which also lists him as a top 20 shooting guard in the nation and the No. 9 player in Arizona. House visited Xavier Sept. 13 and held nearly 20 total offers, including from Creighton, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State and Washington, among others.

House averaged 22 points per game during the 2023-24 season at Scottsdale Desert Mountain before transferring to national prep basketball program AZ Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona.
