Anthony Kim sets sights on Jakarta International Championship after LIV Golf exit

by

Anthony Kim surprised many with his return to LIV Golf. The popular golfer was absent from the golf scene for a long period of time, and later explained his reasons. The American golfer struggled with depression, anxiety and other serious challenges that are difficult to overcome. However, Kim decided to open a new chapter and return to golf, his greatest passion.

The experienced golfer did not play very well this season and was relegated from LIV in his second season. His ambitions for the next season are strong, and his next appearance will be at the Jakarta International Championship as part of the Asian Tour.

The famous golfer may not have excelled at LIV, but the very fact that he returned to golf was important to him.

Performing at the International Series last year, Kim pointed out that he believes in himself and expects a brighter future. It will take some time for him to find his rhythm, but it is certain that Anthony still has the qualities to compete at the highest level.

"I know a lot of people have probably seen my last year and don't think that's possible [contending on Sundays], but I think it’s going to happen," he said.

"I 100% believe in myself, and I think it's just a matter of time. Obviously, the results aren't what I wanted so far, but I think I am ahead of schedule."

Fighting depression and anxiety

Returning to the golf scene, Anthony Kim spoke openly about his struggle with addiction and anxiety. Dealing with mental difficulties is extremely difficult and he sought a way out in various opiates.

Ultimately, he realized that this was not a way out, but that addictions only deepened his crisis and worsened his already existing problems.

However, when you are a fighter, a man who wants to improve, nothing can stand in the way of your recovery.

40-year-old Kim actually took matters into his own hands, decided to fight everything and in the end it can be said that he won.

He returned to his greatest love, showing that anything can be overcome, if you are willing to change.

"I was in a bad mental place. My mental health was deteriorating every day whether I played golf or not. I wanted to experience everything too quickly.

I didn’t know what to do with the advantages you get when you play professional golf for a living.

Some people can handle parties, drinking and move on without thinking about it, not get addicted to anything and live a good life."
