Texas A&M said safety Bryce Anderson didn’t suffer a “catastrophic injury” during Saturday’s win over Notre Dame.
Anderson had to be placed on a backboard with his neck in a brace after he was injured while attempting to make a tackle late in the second quarter. Anderson gave a thumbs up to the crowd as he was wheeled off the field after medical personnel had removed his helmet and shoulder pads while he was on the ground.
“Bryce traveled home with the team Saturday night following our game against Notre Dame and has since undergone further evaluation by our medical staff,” Texas A&M said in a statement. “We are thankful to report that no catastrophic injury was found. Bryce is in great spirits, and our focus is now on supporting him through his recovery. We’re grateful for the many thoughts, prayers and messages from the Aggie family and know that Bryce will continue to feel that support as he heals.”

The Austin American-Statesman reported Tuesday that Anderson had feeling in his limbs after the game. The No. 10 Aggies defeated No. 24 Notre Dame 41-40 when Marcel Reed threw a TD pass on fourth down with 13 seconds to go.
Anderson has 10 tackles so far this season after he had 24 tackles and a pick-6 across 13 games in 2024 Over his career, the senior safety has 116 career tackles and 14 tackles for loss along with two interceptions.
Anderson signed with the Aggies out of high school as a four-star recruit and the No. 10 player in the state of Texas according to Rivals.
