Our team at Mountain West Connection will be releasing our bowl projections each week. This week’s round of projections can be seen below and will likely change as the season progresses. More changes after this week, despite so many teams not playing. Utah State and New Mexico have replaced Air Force and Wyoming for me this week. The Falcons still might be a bowl team, but they will need to beat a quality opponent first. Same with Wyoming, which got exposed against P4 Utah. Utah State proved something against the Falcons, and the Lobos deserve to make an appearance following their big win.

My biggest change this week is putting New Mexico in and taking both Wyoming and Air Force out. I think these are the best six teams in the Mountain West, and I can see a seventh or eighth team slipping in with a 6-6 record.

A week of promotions and demotions. Weaknesses exposed. Only one conference matchup puts Utah State at the top. New Mexico had the big win. I’m considering that the conference might have seven bowl-eligible teams.
