Alabama basketball guard Latrell Wrightsell Jr. is still coming along in his recovery from injury.

FSU transfer forward Taylor Bol Bowen and UA alum Erwin Dudley joined the Wednesday, Sept. 17 edition of “Hey Coach,” and Dudley − who was recently promoted to special assistant to head coach Nate Oats − gave a positive update on Wrightsell.
“Latrell is getting healthy,” Dudley told Chris Stewart of the Crimson Tide Sports Network.
While breaking down what Alabama‘s 2025-26 roster brings to the table, Dudley mentioned that Wrightsell is getting 5-on-5 work in and getting “up and down a little bit.”

Prior to Wednesday, the most recent update on Wrightsell was that the third-year team member was cleared for non-contact work, according to a chat Oats had with insider Jon Rothstein.
Before going down against Oregon last November, Wrightsell was averaging 11.3 points per game while making 42.2% of attempts from deep. He finished the 2023-24 season with a 3-point percentage of 44.7%, proving a critical offensive weapon en route to Alabama’s historic Final Four.
