Many people have compared NXT to Love Island since so many talent end up dating each other. That’s why it comes as no surprise Adriana Rizzo has confirmed she’s dating an NXT Superstar.
While speaking to Justin Stuckley, Adriana Rizzo revealed that she is now dating NXT star Cutler James. She explained that when she first joined, she planned not to date anyone because of a past experience dating a teammate that wasn’t good. For about two years, she stayed focused on herself and avoided relationships, even as many around her started dating quickly.
During that time, she knew that Cutler James had a long-standing crush on her, and she secretly liked him as well. Even then, she didn’t start anything for more than a year. Eventually, she decided to give the relationship a chance, realizing that the feelings had lasted too long to ignore.
Now Rizzo says she is happy she made that choice. She described James as someone who often makes bold and questionable comments, which she sees as part of his personality. For her, beginning this relationship turned out to be one of the best decisions she’s made.
“I actually had the plan to not date anyone in there because I had previously, you know, tried to date someone on a team in the past and I was like, ‘Oh, this is too much. Too much.’ So I thought, ‘Let me not get into that.’
I went about two years without talking to anyone or dating anyone. That was pretty cool of me because everyone else was dating immediately. No shade to any of you, but you all did that.
Anyway, there was this boy—who I will soon name—who had a crush on me for the longest time. For a year I really liked him, but I kept saying, ‘I’m not doing that,’ so I ignored it. I ignored it for over a year.
Finally, I thought, ‘All right, I’ve had a crush on him for over a year. He’s been trying to date me. Let me give it a shot.’ And it turned out to be the best thing.
So, I’m dating Cutler James. He’s a Dark State member and he makes lots of questionable comments—that’s kind of his thing. But yeah, it was great, and I’m glad I did it.”
Adriana Rizzo’s relationship with Cutler James shows that patience can pay off. By listening to her instincts and avoiding a rushed romance, she allowed time for real feelings to grow. Now she’s pretty happy with James and that’s all that matters in the end.
