Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan shared a touching moment with a special fan recently. During their conversation, Ishan Kishan revealed that he will not be part of India’s upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa in November 2025.
After finishing his training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, Kishan met a fan in a wheelchair who was wearing an India jersey. The fan thanked the Indian wicketkeeper for his performances and asked him to score runs for India in the first Test against South Africa.

India is scheduled to face South Africa in the first Test from November 14 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. However, Kishan gently informed the fan that he would not be playing in that Test match, as he is not going to be part of the India squad for the upcoming home series.

After which, the left-handed batter spent time with the young fan, creating memorable moments for him. That special fan mentioned the former Indian captain and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, and Kishan called him a “very good person and player.”

He even invited Ishan to his home and promised to serve his favorite food. Well, the Indian star comforted the young fan and promised to bring a new India jersey whenever he comes to Kolkata or if he visits the NCA the next day after being asked for a jersey with a pocket on the chest.
The fan was clearly moved by Kishan’s gesture. He also clicked the pictures with the fans after spending some memorable time with the special fan at the NCA. Now, the video of Ishan’s sweet gesture went viral across social media platforms.

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan has been out of the Indian cricket team since 2023 in all three formats, and he was also not given the central contract by the BCCI. He didn’t follow the BCCI’s instructions to play in domestic cricket, which cost him a place in the national side and central contract.

Kishan has represented India in 2 Tests, 27 ODIs, and 32 T20Is and amassed 72, 933 and 796 runs, respectively, so far. In the IPL 2025, he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad and scored 354 runs at an average of 35.40 with a strike rate of 152.5, including a century and a fifty in 14 games.
He has over 3500 runs each in first-class and List A cricket to his name and over 5000 runs in the shorter format of the game. Additionally, Ishan has so far amassed 2998 runs in 119 IPL games. Recently, the Indian wicketkeeper played a few county games for Nottinghamshire in England.
During his short county stint, Ishan suffered a hand and ankle injury in an e-bike accident, which needed stitches. Kishan is now undergoing rehab and fitness tests at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and is expected to be ready for the action soon.
