India National Cricket Team opening batsmen Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma have given a belt treatment to the Pakistan National Cricket Team premier pacer Shaheen Afridi in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 match.
The high-voltage match of the Asia Cup 2025 is currently underway between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, September 21.

The explosive India opener Abhishek Sharma is known for playing an attacking brand of cricket from the very start, and he continued the trend in the ongoing match.
On the first ball of the over, Shaheen Afridi tried to play mind games and bowled a bouncer. Abhishek Sharma was absolutely ready for it, and he pulled the pacer behind the wicketkeeper for a maximum.
Just after the shot, Abhishek fired some expletives at Shaheen Afridi as things got spicy. The struggle of Shaheen Afridi continued from thereon as he was seen receiving brutal treatment from Shubman Gill as well.
Shubman Gill has been owning Shaheen since the Under-19 days and he has done that again in 2025. After smashing a couple of fours to the pacer in the 3rd over, Gill looked at Shaheen, said something, and seemingly told him to go and pick up the ball.

He’s the one who takes the attack to the opposition – Aakash Chopra
Speaking on ESPNCRICINFO ahead of the match, the former India opener Aakash Chopra said that the only way for Pakistan to stop Abhishek Sharma is to take his wicket early on in the innings.
Aakash Chopra lauded Abhishek Sharma, saying that he is the brand ambassador of aggressive cricket, and he also predicted Shubman Gill to score runs against the Men In Green. He elaborated:
“You need to take wickets. Simple. You need to stop Abhishek Sharma because while he’s there, he gives two hoots to the fact that he’s changing 55-127, playing Shaheen Afridi for the first time or it’s Oman, he does not care.
“If the brand that we speak about so highly, he’s the brand ambassador of that brand. He’s the one who takes the attack to the opposition. He’s the one who’s even on tougher pitches going at the strike rate that you mentioned and is allowing everybody else to actually bide their own time and play happily because these are not the pitches where we’ve seen a 200-plus score.
“So, if you’re playing on 150-160 kind of surfaces and there is a guy who comes with 15 ball 38 or 16 ball 31, you know that he’s giving you ample time to just settle in and I really hope that Shubman Gill actually just compliments him because this is the ideal kind of total that should play perfectly for Shubman Gill.
“He hasn’t scored the run so far. This could be the game but for Pakistan, I think one thing that Shaheen did not try and I was a little surprised and that happens very often these days.”
