Memphis? Tulane? North Texas? USF?
All four of them have been strong over the first month of the season, and all four have legitimate dreams of winning the American Conference and – with Boise State from the Mountain West having to go to Notre Dame – being in the College Football Playoff.
– Memphis gets USF and Tulane at home, and misses North Texas.
– North Texas gets USF at home, and misses Memphis and Tulane.
– Tulane goes to Memphis, and misses North Texas and USF.
– USF goes to North Texas and Memphis, but misses Tulane.
There will be some twists and turns, but you (almost certainly) have to be in the American Conference Championship game to get in.
It’s still early, but Memphis and USF in a regular season rematch is the early call.
