The Oklahoma Sooners moved to 4-0 on the season with their 24-17 win over the Auburn Tigers. Oklahoma is also 1-0 in SEC play and extended its unbeaten record against Auburn to 4-0.
It was a strong day for the defense, a Brent Venables-led unit that recorded nine sacks in the game, tied for the most all-time in Oklahoma Sooners history. While the offense got off to a slow start in the first half, they found some life in the second half, getting a touchdown and two field goals to earn a hard-fought victory over Jackson Arnold and the Auburn Tigers.
