The victory was even more special for Abhishek’s family, who were present in the stands to witness his heroics live. His sister, Dr. Komal Sharma, could not hold back her emotions after his match-winning knock. Speaking to media, she said:
“I always wanted to watch an India vs Pakistan match, and today we came – and he did so well. He’s the Man of the Match, what more can we say? You can see on our faces, we’re super excited and happy. We’re very proud of him. I truly believe the sky is the limit for him, and he’s going to prove to everyone the kind of player and talent he has.”
Komal further expressed her belief that bigger milestones await her brother, confidently predicting his first international century is not far away. “He’s already made us so proud, but that first century is coming very soon. We’re ready to celebrate even bigger moments,” she added.

Having attended multiple Asia Cup matches this year, Komal described the moment as a dream come true, finally watching an India vs Pakistan showdown live – and with her brother stealing the spotlight. “This is the third or fourth Asia Cup match we’ve come to, and I always wished to witness an India vs Pakistan clash. Today, not only did we get to see it, but he also performed brilliantly,” she said.
Their mother, Manju Sharma, also shared her pride, particularly delighted by Abhishek’s fearless six on the very first ball against Shaheen Afridi. “That shot showed his courage and confidence. For us, it was pure joy to see him play with such boldness on such a big stage,” she remarked.
