Abhishek Sharma breaks Evin Lewis’ record of sixes
Meanwhile, Sharma’s explosive innings not only won the match for India against Pakistan but also propelled him into the massive T20I record books. He completed 50 sixes in only his 20th T20I innings, achieving the milestone in fewer balls than any player in history.
He surpassed Evin Lewis’ previous record and became the first cricketer to reach 50 sixes in under 350 balls in T20I cricket. Lewis took 366 balls, while Abhishek achieved this feat in 331 balls. Abhishek has quickly become one of the most dangerous batters in T20 cricket.

He has 708 runs at a strike rate of 197 and an average of 35.40 in just 20 innings to his name. His tally of 63 boundaries and 53 sixes reflects his fearless style and incredible consistency.

Additionally, Abhishek raced to his half-century in just 24 balls, setting a new record as the fastest fifty against Pakistan by an Indian. He broke his mentor and legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh’s previous record of a 29-ball half-century.
Earlier, Abhishek slammed the Pakistani bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf for attacking him and Shubman Gill personally during the Super Four match in Dubai.
India leads the Super 4 points table with two points, while Bangladesh also has two points but sits second due to a lower net run rate. The Men in Blue will next face Bangladesh on September 24 and Sri Lanka on September 26 in Dubai.
Top two teams from the Super Four stage will advance to the Asia Cup 2025 Final on September 28 in Dubai.
