Kentucky men’s basketball officially opened fall practice Monday, and Mark Pope wasted no time bringing energy to the court. In a video shared on social media, Pope wrote as the caption, “Practice #1 in the books. Hard work & so much fun. Couple of clips of BG [Brandon Garrison] and MM [Malachi Moreno] making plays and Mountain Mamba [Trent Noah] making shots. Can’t wait ‘til 2 pm for #2.”
The clips didn’t disappoint. Jaland Lowe fed Brandon Garrison, who drew a triple team before kicking out to Trent Noah for a wide-open three. In another sequence, Denzel Aberdeen connected with Malachi Moreno, who recovered a near turnover and threw down a powerful dunk over Garrison. Aberdeen later tried to lob an alley-oop to Moreno that missed the mark, but the practice action stayed lively.

The final highlight of the first session showed Garrison bringing the ball up the floor and finding Lowe, who quickly dished to Noah in the corner for another smooth three.
Pope also appeared in a separate post, sprinting into the gym with a grin, yelling, “I love the first day! Let’s go!” before joining his players. Kentucky capped the morning with another clip, this one featuring Mouhamed Dioubate spinning into a thunderous dunk before flexing at the camera.
With less than three weeks until Big Blue Madness, Pope’s Wildcats are already showing off their firepower and their personality.
