India National Cricket Team assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has finally made a massive revelation on the availability of the pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah for the upcoming Test series against the West Indies National Cricket Team.
The speculations have been rife about Jasprit Bumrah possibly skipping the home Test series against West Indies, but now Ryan ten Doeschate has made things pretty clear.

There were some questions over the participation of Jasprit Bumrah in the Test matches against the West Indies, because of the history of his injury issues.
However, Ryan ten Doeschate has confirmed that Bumrah will be available for red-ball matches and said that the pacer is unlikely to be rested by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee.
“It’s unlikely that Bumrah will be rested. He’s set to play the West Indies Tests. We’ve got important matches coming up, and it’s good for him to keep playing and get more match time,” he said, as quoted by TOI.
Jasprit Bumrah played three out of five Tests on the England tour
In India’s last Test series against the England National Cricket Team, the premier right-arm quick Jasprit Bumrah played just three out of five games.
This was because of the workload management strategy followed by the pacer to ensure that his body doesn’t break down. Ahead of the start of the series, Bumrah informed the BCCI selection committee about the advice he received from the medical team and trainers to play just three matches in England.
BCCI gave a green signal to the pacer’s demand, and he featured in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Test matches. Overall, Jasprit Bumrah bowled 119.4 overs and picked 14 wickets in three matches of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, and despite a good performance, he faced criticism for missing two crucial matches for the team.
Meanwhile, there was a school of thought to rest Jasprit Bumrah for the home Test matches because of the pitches being spin-friendly, but it seems like the BCCI is taking a different route.

We were a bit scrappy against Pakistan – Ryan ten Doeschate
Ryan ten Doeschate further talked about India’s performance in the Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2025 against Pakistan and stated that they were quite scrappy.
“We were a bit scrappy against Pakistan. We weren’t clinical enough. The last week has been tough, but the way the boys played in those two games was amazing. Abu Dhabi wasn’t ideal — it took us longer to travel and recover. Shubman also didn’t get the preparation he wanted, he was keen on getting some practice in,” he explained.
