Sep. 23—FARMINGTON, Utah — The two most veteran quarterbacks in the Big Sky Conference, Northern Arizona’s Ty Pennington and Montana’s Keali’i Ah Yat, share the league’s offensive player of the week honors.
In addition, Montana placekicker/punter Ty Morrison grabbed special teams honors for the second straight week.

Pennington, a junior, threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns in No. 15 (Stats Perform) NAU’s 31-23 win over then-No. 14 Incarnate Word Saturday.
Ah Yat threw for a career-best 313 yards and two touchdowns in the No. 5 Grizzlies’ 63-20 dismantling of Indiana State. The sophomore was 22 of 27 passing with no interceptions, giving him an efficiency rating of 203.3, and also ran 14 yards for a score.
Morrison hit all seven of his PAT kicks, booted six of eight kickoffs for touchbacks and averaged 45.0 yards on four punts. Two punts were downed inside the 20 and two returned for a total of 4 yards. The junior shared the honor last week.
Two linemen shared the Big Sky’s defensive honor: Dylan Hampsten of No. 21 Sacramento State and Jacob Psyk of No. 9 UC Davis.

Hampsten had five tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, in the Hornets’ 45-16 win over Central Arkansas late Saturday. Psyk had seven tackles, including three TFLs and two sacks, and forced two fumbles in the win over Southern Utah.
Honors nominated this week included Montana’s Soloon Tuliaupupu and Montana State’s Paul Brott on defense.
Montana State and Montana both begin Big Sky Conference play Saturday, both at home. The No. 4 Bobcats host Eastern Washington at 2 p.m; the Grizzlies bring in No. 8 Idaho for an ESPN2 game at 8:15 p.m. inside Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
