In the match against the United Arab Emirates, he bagged four wickets, and against Pakistan, he picked up three important wickets.

Meanwhile, the left-arm wrist-spinner didn’t look that effective against Oman, picking just one wicket, and his ineffectiveness continued in the next match against Pakistan as well, where he bagged just one wicket.

Coming back to the ongoing match, Kuldeep Yadav nearly sustained an injury on the first ball of the second innings of the match against Bangladesh.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya bowled a short-length delivery to Saif Hassan outside off-stump, and the batter played it in front of square.

Kuldeep Yadav gave it a chase from cover point, and as he reached near the ball, he slipped while bending down. It looked like a freak accident, and there was a fear that the left-arm wrist-spinner twisted his ankle.

But thankfully, nothing was serious as Kuldeep Yadav quickly got up to the field. Later, he also came to bowl and produced a wicket in the first over.

I generally feel that India lives in Bangladesh’s heads rent-free – Aakash Chopra

Speaking on ESPNCRICINFO ahead of the match, the former India opener Aakash Chopra said that Bangladesh need to have belief in themselves that they can beat the Suryakumar Yadav-led side. He elaborated:

“You want to believe that you can beat India. But deep down, you also know that you are the inferior of the two. I mean, nobody’s going to admit it, yes, but everybody also knows the same. So when you know that this is not the, I mean, that is the place that you’re starting from. So, I mean, Bangladesh, I think they’ll have to come out all guns blazing. They’ll have to come out believing that they can do to England what they did to Sri Lanka.

“They have a few bright sparks already in this tournament. They were on the cusp of complete elimination from there to actually being here. If India is one, they are two in the points table at this point in time, at the time of recording at least. And they have a tough schedule, two games back to back, first India, then Pakistan. Well, if they can actually, because I generally feel that India lives in Bangladesh’s heads rent-free.”

Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra further said that Bangladesh find themselves in a tough position as they are forced to play matches on back-to-back days against India and Pakistan.

“So the moment they’re able to just vacate that space, and they say, OK, fine, it may be a very good team, but we can beat them. Because often you see that they tend to capitulate and from a position of strength as well from time to time. So, but it’s a T20 game. So they’ll have to obviously shrug everything aside and say, yes, beating Pakistan might be easier, but this is the game that we need to win.”
