UNC basketball visits four-star recruit in Midwest

by

The North Carolina Tar Heels basketball program is in pursuit of some of the top prospects in future recruiting classes, hoping to build on a top 10 class from 2025. Hubert Davis and his staff have yet to land a commit in the 2026 or 2027 classes but they are picking up some momentum.

On Wednesday, the Tar Heels were on the road visiting a key recruit in the Midwest.

Per Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers, North Carolina was one of the teams in to visit four-star combo guard Jason Gardner Jr. The Tar Heels were in Indiana at Fishers High School to visit with Gardner Jr. They were joined by Iowa, Creighton, Wake Forest and Louisville as well.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Gardner Jr. has 13 offers in his recruitment and ranks No. 26 nationally, the No. 3 combo guard and No. 2 player in the state of Indiana per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.

He has visits to Notre Dame, Purdue, Cincinnati, Ohio State and Purdue so far. He will likely also set up more visits as his recruitment goes on. But with UNC showing interest, it will be something to monitor.
